So they claim these speakers are drop proof, well I’ve got a story to support these claims. 15th April 2019, I was involved in a serious car crash on The M6. My belongings were torn to shreds, the 2019 FORD RANGER WILDTRACK had two wheels ripped off, the cabin crushed, the tailgate loading area separated from the rest of the vehicle, and 6 turns later, on its roof. I lost so much property to damage, but the one and only thing that survived the 80mph devastating collision was the UE MEGABLAST speaker! Granted it now has cosmetic damage where it took a hit, but it’s still structurally sound, plays amazing quality audio, waterproof, and Alexa capable! I don’t think I’ve ever seen such incredible build quality?!

    This is a very good portable speaker. Good bass and highs. Bit expensive if you pay full price, but I got a very good deal with Amazon Prime. It is combined with Alexa, which makes it a very versatile piece of kit. It has Bluetooth connectivity, so will play directly from phone, Spotify etc. Good battery life. If left plugged in it works just like Alexa and will respond immediately. If left on battery it needs to be switched on before voice commands kick in. I have been looking sometime for a quality speaker which delivers good sound and reliability. I think I have found it. Incidentally, it is waterproof too.

    I have never come across a speaker of that size that is so powerful and loud while also retaining amazing quality. I purchased this speaker the beginning of this year and I don't think I have ever been as satisfied with speakers other than this one. When on full volume these speaker still manages to keep the quality and doesn't distort in anyway. The speaker is rather heavy but it makes up for it in every other way. The alexa integration works really well and makes your life so much easier when wanting to find out a bit of information or just wanting the quickly listen a song without using your phone. I don't have one fault with the speaker and would highly recommend this to anyone looking for something loud, portable and of high quality.

    So I purchased this to replace my Megaboom original (not the 3) as I have had my Megaboom for about 3 years now and finally its starting to let go (I think one of the speakers has burst as its always at full volume as I use it at work in a loud environment) Went for the 'Megablast' as its the 'Loudest - best speaker by UE!' ...Well...It is louder by tiny bit but then come the trade offs.
    The app feels and looks alot clunkier compared to the Megaboom (Doesn't constantly display battery life + doesn't show in 1% increments...does in 10% chunks) UI is just alot uglier too in my opinion
    The 'Alexa' addition I didn't really care for because at work I don't have Wifi however I tested at home and from about 3ft away if you are above 50% volume it cannot hear you so its pretty useless
    Portability...I thought the Megaboom was abit chunky but this thing is even worse! Its over 1KG and even bigger.. And the worst thing by far...NO TAP CONTROLS. Why they removed this I do not understand...Or the 'Power on/Power off' via the app. I would leave my speaker on the otherside of the depot at work and use the app to power it on so I knew where I had left...No chance with this brick

    So as the review says to sum it up - Yes the Megablast is louder but you pay the cost so I think I will be just buying another Megaboom 1 (I don't care for the features of the 3 and again I just love the way the Megaboom 1 looks and feels)

    Alexa on this device dows not work. This is my second device and the issue remains. It is a well reported issue that UE support admitted themselves in a support request from me over a year ago. They claim to be working on a firmware update to remedy the issue. However, on recently contacting them i was told the product line is being discontinued and my enquiries regarding the promised (over a year ago) firmware update are being ignored by customer support. Seems UE are happy to simply rip off their customers with false advertising and defective devices.

    Top Lautsprecher. Ich hatte bereits eine und wollte mit der zweiten in Stereo hören. Zuerst wurde die Megaboom geliefert, die aber problemlos und sofort getauscht wurde.
    Für zu Hause und auf der Terrasse einfach genial. Zum mitnehmen finde ich die schon recht groß aber dafür habe ich die kleine Boom.
    Der Vorteil von 2 Lautsprechern ist eindeutig das es nicht so laut sein muss um etwas weiter weg noch vernünftig was zu hören.

    Je vais commencer par le seul vrai point négatif pour moi : le + et le - qui forment une croix. Je trouve cela extrêmement dérangeant . L'enceinte est assez imposante .. Et lourde preuve du sérieux des matériaux qui la compose
    Pour le reste, l'installation est guidée avec exactitude. Je n'ai eu aucune hésitation pour jumeler l'enceinte et la connecter à alexa..
    La qualité sonore est au rendez vous. Le son est clair et agréable . L'enceinte peut être emportée partout. Elle semble robuste et est annoncé comme étant étanche (c'est mieux qu'elle ne craigne pas une petite projection de liquide si on l'emene à l'extérieur). La seule chose pas forcement pratique est le branchement pour la recharge . Je pense prendre le socle à 30 euros qui a l'air assez facile d'utilisation .
    Et sinon ? Alexa ? C'est un gadget mais il y a quand même certaines utilisations bien pratique comme d'avoir une lecture du programme télé , pouvoir baisser ou augmenter le son de l'enceinte en demandant , écouter une radio via le web, en ajoutant une ampoule compatible on peut commander la lumière à la voix. Il suffit d'être à moins de deux mètres de l'enceinte . On s'habitue assez vite à ce petit gadget. Pour vraiment profiter d'alexa à fond le mieux est d'avoir deezer ou Amazon music. J'ai napster et alexa ne semble pas.compatible . Je peux bien sur l'utiliser mais en passant par l'appli de mon smartphone alors que deezer peut être declenchable de façon autonome par l'enceinte

    Bin eigentlich Mega begeistert von Klang Optik, Wasserfestigkeit usw. Echt super Teil! *wenn da nicht das Problem mit "Alexa" wäre (deshalb auch nur 4 Sterne) ich habe mehrere Echos im Haus und habe mich eigentlich über eine Wasser/Wetterfeste "Alexa" gefreut, zumindest war das meine Kaufentscheidung. Aber das funktioniert nur bedingt. Ich habe jedesmal das Gefühl ich rede entweder gegen die Wand oder mit der kleinen behinderten Schwester von Alexa. Spracherkennung ist gleich null ausser man redet sehr langsam und hat das Empfangsmicro fast im Mund und/oder der Befehl wird einfach nicht ausgeführt. Ich dachte erst das es ein Hardwarefehler ist aber meine Tochter hat sich das selbe zugelegt und es war genau das gleiche. Also wer die Alexa Funktion nicht als wichtig empfindet der hat Mega Spaß an dem Teil. Denn alles andere ist wirklich gelungen und rechtfertigt auch den Preis. Vielleicht gibt's ja nochmal ein "Alexa Update" wobei die Kooperation glaube ich sogar eingestellt wurde aber da will ich nichts falsches sagen.
