    This is great! Very easy to set up and a great speaker. We can listen to our Spotify playlists or the radio - or we can say ‘play some nice music’ and she generally finds us something good. The volume can be controlled by saying ‘Alexa, volume 4’ or whatever, from 1 -10. I’ve now connected it to the garden lights so that is handy too - can control through Alexa or through the app even if I’m away from home.
    I’m sure it does a lot more too, plenty to discover.
    Bit jealous that my husband is always chatting to her in the kitchen, but seriously we are really pleased with this!

    A new looking item in pristine condition. This Echo Plus is operating as good as new and performing faultlessly and was purchased at a very good price for a Plus model. The Home Hub is brilliant and is working brilliantly with a Smart plug and a Smart Bulb. I am looking forward to expanding my Smart Home set up with more lamps, switches and Video door bells etc. Overalln this Echo is first class value for money and a very Smart addition to the home with Alexa the cream on top.

    First the PC, then Cloud computing and now AI. This is the next important step on the way to human/machine collaboration.
    This found my IOT lights and plugs with no issues at all and added a huge benefit over control compared to my smartphone apps.Playing synchronised music on various devices works well and I will buy further 'Dot's' when finances allow.
    The device itself offers additional services through 'Skills' and Routines. Whilst skills are a bit like apps on a phone (i.e. 90% of them are non-useful, or even banal, it is clear from the offerings being generated by national services that there is massive potential, particularly as Echo knows your location and can pass this to the skill to get information of local relevance.
    The really exciting part is however Routines' Look on this as simple commands that you can build into single requests which then can execute automatically on request. This is the area for incredible potential future development with I hope an expanding range of parameters (such as time and temperature) that can be utilised. e.g. Turn the lights on when I come home IF it's past sunset time.
    OK, you do have to get the command reasonably correct and there are things that are not yet possible, but to anyone who dismisses this product out of hand I would say, take some time to sit down and read the help on the Web. Yes it's more complicated than operating a TV today but imagine if the old B&W TV had never happened and you had to set up a new fully smart TV today from scratch. Your learning curve would probably be steeper and with less help than you get from Alexa!

    We bought this nervously from the Amazon refurbished session, and we have since enjoyed it and went on to buy a second one. The sound product is brilliant and once the voice training is done, it becomes another member of the family. The four star is down to the apps and setting. I think Amazon should work more on making the apps a lot friendly.

    I bought one of these refurbed as I always wanted one but never got round to buying it. Even though I have more recent editions in Echo this Echo Plus is my favourite, and sits proudly on my desk. It looks fantastic, and though made of plastic it look like a metal can. It's pièce de résistance, the volume turn dial on the top beats a button any day of the week for me. Responds quickly and works with my lights and Tp Link smart plugs. Style and substance!!

    Lovely looks and works as new - I just need to get to grips with having my sister using my account as things like alarms going of in her house ! which does alarm her. So if your buying as a gift make sure you tick the box or it will link to your account.
