La Sportiva Tarantula Climbing Shoes Multifunctional climbing shoe ideal for beginner and instruction walls. Quick lacing velcro, standard fit. Suede Leather Upper Constructed using a suede leather upper, the La Sportiva Tarantula Climbing Shoes ensure the perfect balance of structure and stretch. Designed to provide the right amount of support for uncompromising climbs this upper ensures a glove-like fit. The fabric conforms to the shape of the foot to provide a perfect fit that minimises in-shoe slippage; because a precise fit is necessary when climbing. Added leather in the toe box provides protection from knocks and scrapes ensuring your feet remain protected at all times whilst rubber in the back ensures your heel is always locked in place. The antiperspirant padded tongue makes shoes easier to pull on and off and eliminates creasing allowing the shoe to look newer for longer. Lastly, an innovative closure system consisting of two velcro straps that pull in the opposite direction ensures a locked-down fit for added midfoot support. LaSpoFlex Midsole The midsole of the Tarantula Climbing Shoes is low in profile to save on weight and increase underfoot feel. The LaSpoFlex midsole is 1.8mm thick to ensure a level of cushioning which doesn't compromise on sensitivity. The specialised midsole incorporates prehensile in the anterior to increase edging capability and sensitivity so you feel changes underfoot without experiencing discomfort. The midsole is designed to ensure added adaptability so you can tackle any climb with complete confidence. FriXion Outsole Ideal for beginners, the outsole of the Tarantula Climbing Shoes features grippy yet hardwearing FriXion RS. The 4mm outsole has been added to ensure enhanced durability and grip allowing your feet to respond to all types of terrain

    These fit well. I have wide feet and normally wear a size 12. I went with size 12 and they generally fit pretty well. They've loosened quite a bit, but still pretty good. Just have to pull the velcro much tighter than when they were brand new. Hopefully the leather stops stretching. I'd almost wish they were a little tighter. Great looking and comfortable though for a newb like me. MUCH more useful than the rentals from the local climbing gym.

    These shoes snug every part of my foot perfectly, and are surprisingly comfortable. I've used mine a few times now and they work great! Would definitely recommend.

    NOTE: I had to get a size smaller than I normally wear with normal shoes. I'm normally a size 10, and I've used other climbing shoes size 10 that fit me perfect so I assumed this would work. However when I got them they fit me like a normal shoe is supposed to fit, a little lose with some wiggle room for the toes. The sizes don't seem to compensate correctly for how the shoe should fit for the sport. So I returned those for a size 9 and it fits perfectly, with the toes curled just the right amount for a nice snug fit.

    I followed the advise by former buyers and I bought one size and have smaller than my actual size, but I think half size less would be more than enough. They look excellent but I should review if I could change it for the right size or, if negative, pass it to one of my sons.
