According to the Government's own road map, they are hoping that by June 21st, all restrictions will be lifted in England. It's been tough for everyone on many levels but what have you missed doing the most?
England's Lockdown Restrictions Started Loosening from March 8th 2021
The first thing to ease has been schools and rightly so, many people would agree. Two people are also now also allowed to meet outdoors for a coffee, drink or picnic.
In the weeks to come, many other restrictions will start to ease as we head back to almost normal, well that's the plan anyway.

Obviously, the thing we've all missed the most has been seeing family and friends, but aside from that, over the past few months of full lockdown restrictions, what have you missed the most from our list below?
Stage two lockdown easing
From April 12th and no earlier, all shops will be allowed to open. Outdoor dining and drinking in restaurants and pubs will also be permitted. We will also be allowed to get down to the gym and visit spas. Hairdressers, beauty salons and other personal services can reopen.
Staycations will also be on the cards as UK domestic holidays away from home will be permitted, and children will be allowed to attend indoor play activities, with a limited number of parents or guardians in attendance.
Animal lovers and adrenalin seekers will be glad to know that Zoos, theme parks will be welcoming them in, and lovers will be allowed to have up to 15 people present at their wedding.

Stage three lockdown easing
From 17th May 2021, groups of up to 30 people can meet outdoors, while a total of six people or two households can meet indoors to socialise.
Indoor seating will be permitted for all pubs, restaurants and other hospitality venues. Film fans will be over the moon that they will be able to watch movies on the big screen, with cinemas reopening. Museums, theatres, and children's play areas can also open without restrictions.
Stage four lockdown easing
This is the big one that everyone in the nation is crossing their fingers and hoping will come true.
From June 21st 2021, all legal limits on social contact will be removed. This means back to life as it was. No limits on how many people can attend weddings and funerals. Finally, night clubs which have been among the very hardest hit of businesses will be allowed to invite revellers back onto the dance floor.
All easing is based on 4 tests being met
The dates above are by no means set in stone, they are just a roadmap. Each easing stage will have a minimum of five weeks apart so that the scientists and the government can be sure that their tests have been met before moving to the next phase.
The 4 easing restrictions tests
- The vaccine programme continues at pace
- The vaccine efficacy is reducing the number of people dying with the virus or needing hospitalisation
- There are no further surges in infection rates
- New coronavirus variants are kept under control
There is still a long road to travel until we reach a place that frees us all from restrictions on our lives but it seems we are getting there a step at a time.
